Presentation at the 16th Congress EuroFedLipid

In mid-September, a 16th congress organized by the European Federation for Fat and Oil Science and Technology was held in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

This federation is a European analogue of the American AOCS, which is why this event is considered to be the most important meeting of scientific, research and development workers and industrial practitioners in addition to the annual AOCS meeting. The Subtitle of the Conference is Fat and Oil: Science, Technology and Nutrition in a Changing World. The changing world was the biggest topic of the conference. The limits on contaminants are tightened, the problem of the ban on palm oil imports and the limitation of support for first generation biofuels is being tackled, while the aim is not to reduce biofuel in diesel. The pressure to ban the use of palm fat in the food industry, which is currently a hardly substitutable raw material in many industries, for example for the production of margarines, biscuits, or baby food, continues to grow.

The question of the use of enzymes or the use of membrane technologies in oil refining was discussed. There are also new trends in the field of oilseed breeding with a more favorable ratio of fatty acids for human health and many other interesting topics and trends in oil seed processing technologies.

Neither Farmet, with its presentation of soybean extrusion using energy recuperation among the other performers, could not be overlooked. The presentation was greatly discussed because it fulfills the current trend of local processing of agricultural commodities, for which our company offers world-class technology in the case of processing soybean technology. This technology excels in low energy consumption and high quality output products, all without the use of chemicals.
