The mixing tank FMN(N)O serves for the storage and homogenization of crude, freshly-pressed oil before filtration. In the tank, the solids, which are a natural part of the expelled oil, sediment at the bottom. The sediment is distributed evenly thanks to the intense stirring by blades of a specific shape. These blades reduce whirling and improve the mixing process in the entire oil column. This is necessary for seamless pumping of the oil for following procedures.
All the accessory components are designed not to extend beyond the ground plan dimensions of the tank to avoid limitations when implementing the tank in any technology.
It is a vertical vessel with a conical bottom and a lid, equipped with a stirrer and a suction unit. The container also works in a regime without pressure. The upper portion of the mixing tank contains a service hatch for easier service and maintenance access. There is also a cyclone that serves for capturing oil particles (oil mist) that escape from the vessel. This equipment is also fully integrated, via a set of sensors, with the control system FIC.
The mixing tank is offered at volumes of 6, 9, 16, and 26 m3; with a maximum diameter of 2.8 m. These dimensions allow easy manipulation around the facility.
The tank can be equipped with a jacketed heater for the heating of the oil. This treatment lowers the viscosity of oil and serves for dissolving of some natural components of crude oil, which hinder pumping and filtration of cold oil. Parts of the heating unit are a pump, located below the mixing tank, and boilers for the heating of water. This supplementary equipment also comes with insulation that protects from burning as well as reducing heat loss.
