The screw separator FSS serves to decrease the amount of solids in the pressed oil, ensuring more efficient and reliable subsequent oil filtration. This device is designed with respect to maximum performance and it is optimized to reduce oil solids so that filtration can be performed with maximum efficiency.
The mixture of oil and solids (solid particles, leftovers after pressing) is pumped into the hopper of the separator; the liquid fraction flows out downstream, through a screen; the solid fraction together with remaining oil is carried by the screw shaft. Further in the separator the separation itself occurs: the screw shaft presses the mixture against the flaps on the walls, expelling oil in the process. The oil flows freely through the screen and the solids fall out through a slit at the outlet.
