The FS 4022 screw press is a freestanding machine that can be placed on a platform, or a concrete or steel base. It cannot be placed directly on the floor, as material needs to be raked out from below, and a separator needs to be placed below the level of the press. The FS 4022 press is an innovated version from 2022. The new press version is designed to absorb greater torque created during the highly efficient oilseed processing. It does not require high-strength anchoring. The press is only anchored to stabilize its position. It does not transfer full torque. The basic frame houses the pressing mechanism, the main drive, and other accessory and auxiliary systems.
The pressing mechanism consists of the cage, shaft, screw assembly and inserts. The shape of the screws gradually changes from input to output, decreasing the space between the screw plates, which results in gradual pressure increase in the work area. Generated pressure results in pressing of the oil outwards. The oil flows out of the work area through small slots in the working basket into a collecting tub located below the pressing mechanism. The main drive runs the shaft with the pressing mechanism. The drive is implemented as an electric motor with a belt and a transmission.

The FS 4022 oilseed screw press is a high-capacity press with performance ranging from 100 t/day to 240 t/day. It is supplied as standard for electrical networks in accordance with EU specifications, but the electrical system can be adapted to meet local market requirements (USA, Canada, etc.). The electrical system can be equipped with a frequency converter for the main drive, allowing for greater optimization of the pressing process. The presses are equipped with electric motors ranging from 250 to 500 kW, depending on the technology used.
